First days at home

First off, sorry for the sporadic updates to this blog. I’d like to update it more, but the Comcast people are jerking me around and won’t come and fix our Web access. Tomorrow, supposedly ... we will see.

Anyway, I’ll try to drop by a coffee shop later on to upload this batch. In it, you’ll find a new gallery of Drew during his first few days at home.

Things are settling into a little bit of a routine. Drew sleeps most of the day, and is awake a good chunk of the wee hours of the morning (1 a.m. to 4 a.m. seems to be his favorite time to just hang out).

Ally and I took the train downtown yesterday, just to give her something special, and to give mommy a little bit of quiet time.

Drew just pooped.

If you’ve forgotten what a baby poop is like, let me refresh your memory: There’s about two minutes of wriggling discomfort (from the baby, not me), and then a half second squirt/explosion noise whose best analogy is what would happen if you pressed hard on the valve of a nearly empty whipped topping aerosol container.

And then peace. Drew settles in and goes back to sleep.
