OK; here’s how this is gonna go down.
Karenna’s the real writer in this relationship, but I expect she’ll have her mind on a few other things over the next two days. So you’ll have to deal with me; I’ll spare you the poetry and lay it down as straight as possible. This short-lived blog will let you (presumably family and friends) know what’s up. It may get updated every half hour or every half day, depending on how many defibrillators I can set off every time I fire up the wireless.
We spent today nesting and waiting for the hospital to call. The whole family’s dealing with the impending arrival in different ways. Ally’s excited (yesterday, she “decorated” the baby’s room by exploding the baby’s toy collection and hanging every velcroed piece from anything it’d stick to), Karenna is busy cleaning, and I’ve been hammering, scrubbing and dusting. Even the cat has gotten into the act.
The hospital said to call tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. to set up a time. We’ll keep you posted.
